Rowen currently conducts the Lithgow Community Choir, and the Phoenix Choir Blue Mountains. The Phoenix Choir regularly performs major works from the classical choral repertoire across the Blue Mountains, and are always seeking new members. Rowen also regularly conducts workshops and large choral performances which are open to interested choristers, including for the 2014 and 2016 Blackheath Choir Festival's Combined Choir events, which pooled the resources of the Festival's participating choirs, and the inaugral Sing in the Mountains performance of Handel's Messiah on 9 April, 2017.

 Armistice Day Commemorative Concerts

Friday 9 November 7pm, St Finbars Catholic Church, Springwood

Sunday 11 November 4pm, Hoskins Uniting Church, Lithgow

In these special concerts to commemorate the end of World War I, Phoenix Choir and guest singers will perform Gabriel Fauré’s sublime Requiem Mass, arranged for small ensemble by the choir’s musical director, Rowen Fox. This arrangement for violin, cello, piano and organ was first heard in 2014. We will be joined by guest singers from across the Blue Mountains to perform one of the most popular works in the choral repertoire.

This concert also features the premiere of a newly commissioned choral work by Rowen Fox. All This is Ended is a setting of Rupert Brooke’s poem The Dead, written in 1914. The new work has been made possible by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs as a part of the Armistice Centenary Grants Program.
